Web Casino Sucker Wagers — Part Two

  • Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You generally place a bet (a dollar is the normal amount) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of $25,000. Though huge jackpots like these are particularly tempting, they are also particularly hard to win. You would have to hit a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, think about this- you wager twenty hands and place the side wager every time. That is twenty dollars you could have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker wager. Just think about what you could have been able to win at a bet with greater odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This takes the overall casino edge from 2.63percent with one zero wheel to a huge 5.26percent in American. The single number bet has just a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers as a substitute which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you gamble on it, the house edge can be a huge 25%. Yes, that was not a error. Due to the huge amount of numbers you must choose, it is not advisable to gamble on Keno to often. A few times for fun, maybe. But don’t spend all your cash on it or you’ll quickly discover yourself broke.
